A rainy day - bite the dog!

Mum said she was staying at home cos it is raining. Great -cuddles. On no, but this means Chilli dog is staying at home too. No walks means I get it. Big time! Well I'll show her who's boss. Got to get to high ground then swat, bite, use all the weapons while maintaining a look of superiority.

Left or right pawed?

I hope some cats are reading this. Are you left or right pawed? Chances are if you're a boy like me, then you are left pawed. That's right, boys are left, girls are right (well, they're wrong really!)

Scientists looked at cats and how we use our paws. Test One- They put a bit of tuna at the bottom of an empty jar,the watched how we attempted to extract the food treat. Easy -anyway we can! Whatever is takes. It is TUNA, after all!

Task two used a fabric mouse on a string that was suspended above each cat's head. The paw that was first used to reach for the toy was recorded. Easy- bite the hand not the mouse!

Finally, the scientists took the same toy for task two and slowly dragged it on the ground in front of the cats. I find it's not worth expending any energy over chasing toys on a string. So yes, I just reach out my paw-my left paw!!

Cats like milk

My brother Clyde likes milk but only when he can steal it. He likes to dip his paw in the glass and lick it. When I try that, I just knock over the glass.
P.S. Did you notice that Clyde is left-pawed?

How big I am!

I have grown. I continue to grow. I will be the biggest cat ever. I'm on my way.

Visitors

We had visitors today. I liked them. I stalked them. But... I couldn't catch them. One day I will, I will.

They sat on the chimney and looked down on me. Then they swam in the pool. Silly animals. We have a pond with yummy fish and snails and they choose a cold pool. Then they swam round and round,round and round, round and round.
You won't catch me doing that. No way am I going in the pool. Might try the pond some day though. Although if these ducks come back I could be tempted to stretch my paw a little into the water...

Life continues as normal

Hey I've been busy doing things that cats do napping, eating, grooming and napping again cos it's tiring doing cat things. Occasionally I play with the puppy. She thinks I like her. Aren't puppies gullible?

My respect is all for cats. Take my brother Clyde. He's 17 years old. That alone deserves respect. I like to sleep back to back with him. He's warm. He likes snoozing too. He snoozes even more than me. Back to snooz.z.zing...

Unbelievable it may sound but it's true. Cat pee gets everywhere. Even into wine... ;-)

Big cats

ILove big cats.I am a big cat. well technically I am a small cat. Small cats purr. Big cats don't. I am big, bigger, going to be the biggest!

I really should start to Twitter. Cats who Twitter are popular. Just read about Socks! 500,000 fans. I wonder if they all feed him!

Cats and other species

People thinkthat cats are hunters.I have never caught anything.I'm sure I could if I tried. I choose not to.
Cats can live alongside mice and rats. We can be friends. Humans just need to introduce us early - and carefully. I might like one rat but I won't like others. I like my ferret Thunder but I don't like Lightning. She's too rough. She's too rough even for the puppy! We cats are gentle creatures.

Aren't we amazing?

Believe it or not, I'm not talking about myself today.
I know, it's difficult to imagine a day that's not about Leo the lion!
There are other amazing animals on this planet. Check out this top ten amazing animals. Many of my favourites are in the top ten - birds, fish, rats. Yes they are pretty special althoughI've never caught any. One day... but enough about me...
I draw your attention to no.6, however. Yes cats are still amazing animals. More about me tomorrow...
